"For maximum effectiveness, the Gospel should be taken on a full stomach."(Poppy)
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
The goal of The Belize Lighthouse Project (BLP) is to provide the local pastors in the Belize River Valley area (one of the poorest areas in Belize) support in ways that they are not able to handle themselves.
Most of the pastors have no jobs and are struggling to make ends meet. They are very aware of the needs of the congregations and their community. However, they have no means of which to help. Some of these pastors have contemplated closing the doors and walking away from the work.
The Problem:
Lack of trust and suspicions between the local churches have kept these individual pastors from collaborating together.
A working solution:
Since BLP is not a church organization, pastors are willing and eager to work with us. BLP poses no threat of stealing members from their individual churches.
In turn, we are able to see a new communication and friendship forming between the leaders.

BLP is a 'Hub' which connects dedicated individuals and various key ministries working toward polling resources, technology, spiritual guidance, prayer and know-how in order to allow the pastors of these local churches to continue to pastor AND become more effective with what God has called them to do.
KEY Ministries:
The 360 Church: http://www.the360church.com
A 'front line' team prepared to receive request, pray and strategize a solution to help in individual or group situations that may arise. The 360 church is capable of transporting specialized help (electricians, carpenters...) as well as various helpers via Belize Lifeline.

Angels Attic:
Clothing and pantry ministry. These indiviuals are able to receive information from The BLP and gather clothing needed and deliver directly to BL.
Ms. Dorla was blessed and amazed to receive these much needed items.
In addition, BLP (working with BL) is setting up a means of communications where the needs are collected from the individual pastors via monthy meetings hosted by BLP. These needs will be displayed online and updated often. Individuals and organizations will receive this information via newsletter and the BHP/BL website along with other information regarding the state of the churches.

These meetings will be carefully moderated as to not bring in individual denominational doctrines. The key focus will be on meeting the needs of the indivdual communities and churches, planning shared events such as feeding programs, 'fun' events/activites on the BLP 20 acres and upcoming shared events. These meetings will start with prayer and praise reports and end with prayer and encouragement.

The BLP Offering.
We are capable of housing up to eight individuals to stay at the facility. These individuals can then work with the pastors on various projects and outreaches.
In addition to the feeding program (sending Talipia to other orphanages and rest homes),
tanks have been set up for spawning talipa. These small hatchlings will be dedicated to families around the community.
We also have a small garden capable of enhancing the fish feeding program with vegetables.
We have set up an area where we would like to place a small chapel/storage facility.
Seven ponds sitting on several acres are capable of holding 32,000 adult Tilapia These ponds are here to help finance this facility as well as to supply fish for the feeding programs.
In Summary, the goal of the BLP is to simply show the love of God by working with the pastors as they minister to the individual spiritual needs as well as physical needs. To provide an outlet for various ministries and individuals in the US to come and be a part of what God is doing by helping in various ways.
We want to offer hope to those leaders so they can effectively build the Kingdom.
